Mr Lumpy Wrist

So today I had an 11:00 a.m. appointment at St Michaels Hospital in Hayle. I was up in plenty of time, awake at 08:30, no morning stretch today but a comprehensive, state of the art, sat on the side of the bed, baby wipe bath. So refreshing and satisfying (NOT)  but better than feeling unclean.

Normal play with Loki, balancing with one crutch before my normal trot light footedly downstairs :-p .  I opened the dining room door and Loki usually runs to the back door to see if he can see any cats but today he disappeared into the front room so I suspected we'd left some food on the coffee table so I shouted after him thinking he'd come out looking guilty, but was happily amused to see him run out to me with the new toy which I had bought for him yesterday.

Fed my lovely dog and prepared my pick and mix bowl of medication which I greedily devoured instead of breakfast before getting the Alexa in the bedroom to awake Dee as she had obviously fell asleep again as she's not been sleeping too well lately with the pain she is suffering.

Anyway we got to the hospital Main Reception at a couple of minutes to 11 only to be told we needed to be at the entrance behind where we had parked up, so we wheeled and walked back and booked in there only to be sent back to the Main Reception so I could access the X-Ray department to get my wrist X-Rayed before my appointment. The receptionist did apologize though.

So back to the other department to see a doctor who asked lots of questions about my pain in my wrist and and who asked if I wanted another steroid injection (the last one was 6 months or so ago and did work for a couple of months I think). So she said she had to go and discuss it with the head honcho, so James Bond appeared and took photos of my X-Ray for me to add to my blog.

The lady doctor returned with the boss man who discussed having my wrist fused totally or partially or continuing with injections in the future and who the proceeded with pushing a syringe needle into the outside edge of my wrist and discharging the contents.

I thanked him and said "I'd like to say it's been a pleasure, but it hasn't" and we said our goodbyes and we left on friendly terms lol.

The lady doctor then asked if I had a wrist support and went to the Hand Therapy Team department to see if they could fit me in without an appointment, which they did and I was presented/fitted with a support, the first one of it's kind they had ever issued they told me. It is quite comfortable but still a bit sore from the injection too.
